Designed around the Active for Life stage of CKC's Long Term Athlete Development plan with a focus on fitness, fun, and well-being, this program focuses on skills development based on specific individual goals. Open to beginners and experienced paddlers alike, the Masters program offers competitive and recreational opportunities in canoe/kayak singles and crew boats. Participants can take part in local, divisional, and national competitions, which can be registered for separately (participation in regattas is not a requirement, but is a great way to work with a team and challenge yourself!)
The CPCC adult canoe/kayak program comes with a very friendly and social environment. It is a great way to meet new people, make new friends, and challenge yourself at learning new and exciting skills. All of this while also providing the opportunity to experience the beautiful Mississippi River in the heart of our town. Whether you're taking part in the intensity of practice, or going at your own pace, join us on the river and take advantage of our water and facilities!

PROGRAM HOURS/SCHEDULE: Tuesday's & Thursday's from 6:30PM-8:00PM
AGES: Participants must be 25+
SPRINT PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to swim 25m (any stroke) and tread water for at least 1 minute (as per the National Lifesaving Society swim to survive standard.

The CPCC's Recreation and Fitness Paddling program has been developed to allow members of the Carleton Place and surrounding communities access to our facilities and equipment in order to learn the fundamentals of recreational canoeing/kayaking and Stand-Up Paddle boarding, all while exploring the beautiful Mississippi River. The program offers coached sessions twice a week for 12 weeks. Participants in this program will receive guided instruction from our National Coach Certification Program trained coaches in touring/fitness kayaking, SUP (Stand-Up Paddle Board) and other recreation-based equipment. Each session will include up to 45 minutes of instruction from one of our experienced coaches, followed by free paddling time at your own pace. Available equipment includes touring kayaks, stand up paddle boards, and pleasure canoes. Registration in this program also includes a General Membership, which provides access to our facilities and equipment during open hours (see information below).

General Membership is an initiative that began in 2019 at the Carleton Place Canoe Club. The intent is to get more of our community out on the water to experience the waterway we are so lucky to have running through the heart of our town. Whether you are an ex-paddler looking to get back out on the water, or a beginner recreational user wanting to go at your own pace, this basic membership provides flexibility in the use of our club equipment and facilities.
General members will be able to access the club facilities and skill-appropriate club equipment during designated member hours (outlined below). It is important to note that there will be no programming, coaching, or instruction during these hours. Members will simply be able to sign out equipment approved by our dock supervisor, and use the equipment within the designated areas.
A ‘General Member’ of the Carleton Place Canoe Club can be defined as any individual registered in a U12 or older full summer season program with the club. This includes:
