NOTICE: Annual Meeting of Members being held on December 4th @ 7PM
Our U10 Youth Sprint program for ages 8-9 (as of January 1st, 2024) is a full summer program designed around Canoe Kayak Canada’s FUNdamentals and Foundations stage of the Long Term Athlete Development plan. Athletes will work with our friendly, experienced, and certified coaches to learn about water safety, introductory sprint canoe and kayak technique, and physical literacy through games and practice sessions on the water.
All of our staff are certified through the National Coach Certification Program and are passionate about teaching our young paddlers about the importance of water safety in a fun and knowledgeable environment. We also focus on building a strong base for athlete development with emphasis on technical skills development and an appreciation for the sport. Athletes will be split into smaller groups and will spend their summer days in sprint canoe/kayak singles and crew boats working on technique, general aerobic, and speed development.
