2023 Program Registration is now open - Come Paddle with us!
Our Introduction to Sprint Program for ages 9-13 (as of January 1st, 2023) is a 2-week program designed to introduce new participants into our sprint programs. Athletes in this program will work with our friendly, experienced, and certified coaches to introduce athletes to the world of sprint canoe/kayak competition and provide you with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in this exciting sport. We offer two registration options for this program, full-day from 9AM-3:30PM or morning-only programming from 9AM-12PM.
In addition to the two-week program, participants will have the opportunity to extend their registration into full summer programming by paying the difference. This is a great opportunity for continued development in sprint canoe/kayak. Our Intro to Sprint Competition program includes the chance for participants to try out competition at our CPCC Home Regatta on July 15th, where they can put newly acquired skills to the test against other aspiring sprint athletes. Whether athletes are looking to excel in a new sport or simply looking to continue development in sprint canoe/kayak, this program is the perfect way to challenge them and continue to push their limits.
All of our staff are certified through the National Coach Certification Program and are passionate about teaching our young paddlers about the importance of water safety in a fun and knowledgeable environment. We also focus on building a strong base for athlete development with emphasis on technical skills development and an appreciation for the sport. Athletes will be split into smaller groups and will spend their summer days in sprint canoe/kayak singles and crew boats working on technique, general aerobic, and speed development.
