Regatta Ready Information

Regatta Ready 2019

Participants will explore the Mississippi River with certified coaches in canoes, kayaks, war canoe and dragon boats, learning the basics of boating safety and sprint canoe/kayak paddling skills in a fun and safe environment.  Along with other club programs, campers will have a great time challenging their own abilities while developing self-confidence and team work skills.

Campers will join our full summer competitive paddlers in learning the fundamentals of paddling a sprint boat through a progressive learning approach.  At the completion of each program, athletes will have the opportunity to participate in a local regatta event, putting their newly acquired skills on display (additional $50 for insurance & affiliation fees).  Those continuing with additional weeks at the camp, participating in the full summer program, or joining other club programs will build upon these skills to reach higher levels of skill development.

Carleton Place's Regatta Ready program reinforces important personal skills such as teamwork, leadership, communication, building self-confidence, and teaches the importance of a healthy and active lifestyle.  All of Carleton Place's programs are led by friendly, dependable, knowledgeable and certified staff.
