DragonBoat Programs

The CPCC Dragonboat program is a great way to get active outdoors, meet new people, and work towards personal fitness goals, with the program goal to develop a team to compete at the Carleton Place Dragon Boat Festival in September. This program is open to both experienced and beginner paddlers/dragon boaters alike. The CPCC is providing an opportunity to Carleton Place and surrounding community members to learn the skills and technique involved in Dragonboat paddling, while having fun, socializing, and preparing to compete in an awesome community driven event. Participants will have practice sessions once per week on the evening of their choosing (Mondays from 6:30 - 7:30pm, or Wednesdays from 5:30 - 6:30pm). Time on water will be focused on having fun and achieving individual fitness goals, with the ultimate team goal of participating in some small, local competitions. There may also be an opportunity to compete at the Ottawa Dragonboat Festival in June.

PROGRAM DATES: May 21st - September 7th, 2024 (CP Dragon Boat Festival on Saturday September 7th) - PLEASE NOTE: The Monday session for Week #1 of programming will be moved to Tuesday, May 21st to accommodate the Victoria Day Holiday on Monday, May 20th. Practice time will remain the same!

COST: $225
PROGRAM SCHEDULE: Choose Monday from 6:30 - 7:30PM OR Wednesday from 5:30-6:30PM
AGES: Participants must be 18+ 

GENERAL MEMBERSHIP OPT IN: Our dragon boat members can opt in to our general membership program for an additional $150 (that's a 55 % discount!). This will provide access to our club recreation equipment (touring kayaks, SUP boards, and touring canoes) during our open hours from June 5th - August 25th. See General Membership details HERE.  

PLEASE NOTE -  Your registration is only complete once you submit payment in full (prior to your program start date) - payments can be made online upon registration (credit card payments are subject to a 3% transaction fee) or via email transfer to finance@cpcanoeclub.com - and submit a signed waiver & code of conduct, and concussion code of conduct (for each registered participant). The CPCC Dragon Boats are available for teams to rent on an hourly basis.  Teams looking to utilize CPCC Dragon Boats and paddles equipment can do so by registering online and reaching out to us via info@cpcanoeclub.com to confirm availability. For Dragon Boat Rentals, teams will need to provide their own steersperson (or cox) for their session. A cox may be available for hire as needed, please contact info@cpcanoeclub.com for more information.

COST: $95 PER HOUR
