GENERAL MEMBERSHIP: RULES & EXPECTATIONS

General Membership Hours (2025 season):

  • Wednesday: 5:00PM – 8:00PM

  • Friday: 5:00PM – 8:00PM

  • Saturday: 11:00AM – 2:00PM

  • Sunday: 9:00AM – 12:00PM

 

Age Restrictions:

  • Minimum age for registration is U14 (12-13 years as of January 1st, 2025).

  • U12 and U14 participants must paddle with adult supervision unless they pass a skills assessment. U14 participants can complete a skills assessment to paddle unsupervised (contact info@cpcanoeclub.com to schedule).

  • U14 participants who pass the skills assessment must still have a parent/guardian on shore for supervision.

 

Supervisor Rules:

  • Supervising adults must be registered in a program or as General Members, and must be 18 or older.

  • The supervisor must remain on the water with the participant unless the skills assessment is passed.

  • Supervisors can oversee no more than two participants at a time.

 

General Membership Rules:

  • Life jackets with whistles are required for all participants under 17.

  • Life jackets with whistles must be in the boat for those 17 and older.

  • Paddlers must remain within 25m of shore.

  • Paddlers over 16 must stay within the designated area; U14 paddlers cannot go beyond the 500m point.

  • Use only club-owned equipment unless personal equipment is used.

  • Sign equipment in and out with the Membership Supervisor.

  • Paddlers must use appropriate equipment for their skill level.

  • Put equipment away when finished.

  • No abusive behavior or swearing will be tolerated.

 

Failure to follow these rules may result in membership revocation without refund.

PLEASE NOTE: In order to complete registration, you must submit a signed waiver, code of conduct, concussion code of conduct (for each of your registered participants), and payment in full (prior to the program start date). Our waiver and codes of conduct can be found in the 'Important Info' section of our website, and payment can be made by credit card online (subject to a 3% transaction fee), by cheque (dropped off at the CPCC office) or via email transfer to finance@cpcanoeclub.com.
