Adult Canoe Kayak , Basic Memberships & Paddle all

Adult Canoe Kayak

Designed around the Active for Life stage of CKC's Long Term Athlete Development plan with a focus on fitness, fun and well-being, this program focuses on skills development based on specific individual goals. The Masters program offers competitive and recreational opportunities in canoe/kayak and war canoes. Participants can take part in local and national competitions, but costs do not include regatta fees, which can be purchased separately.

This year, we are offering two program lengths. For those who wish to get out on the water while temperatures are still a bit cooler, we have a spring & summer program that will begin on May 12th. This will allow those who are racing in the summer months to get an early start. We will also have a summer only option that will begin on June 17th. This option is great for beginners, or simply for those who do not wish to experience some of the colder water conditions we see earlier in the season.

The CPCC adult program comes with a very friendly and social environment. It is a great way to meet new people, make new friends, and challenge yourself at learning new and exciting skills. All this while also experiencing the beautiful Mississippi River in the heart of town. Whether you're taking part in the intensity of practice, or going at your own pace, join us on the river and take advantage of our water and facilities!

Dates and Cost:

Spring & Summer May 5th - August 20th, 2020: $450

Summer Only June 16th - August 20th, 2020: $335

Schedule: Tuesday & Thursday evenings from 6:30pm - 8:00pm

Basic Membership

Basic Membership is a new initiative at the Carleton Place Canoe Club that began in 2019. The intent is to get more of our community out on the water and experiencing the waterway we are so lucky to have running through the heart of our town. Whether you are an ex-paddler looking to get back out on the water, or a recreational user wanting to go at your own pace, this basic membership provides flexibility in the use of our club equipment and facilities.

Basic members will be able to access the club and skill-appropriate club equipment during designated member hours (outlined below). It is important to note that there will be no programming, coaching, or instruction during these hours. Members will simply be able to sign out equipment approved by our dock supervisor, and use the equipment within the designated areas.

This membership is separate from other programming, and members must meet all of the requirements outlined below to be considered in good standing and eligible to hold membership. As this is still a new initiative in 2020, this program requires a minimum of 12 registrants to move forward. If we do not have 12 or more registered by May 15th, this opportunity will be cancelled.

Dates: TBD - Weather permitting (16 weeks)

Open Hours: Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 6:00pm - 9:00pm, Saturday from 9:00am - 2:00pm (please note that the canoe club will be closed on holidays).

Ages: Participants must be 16+

Membership Cost: $275 (additional $90 if member is racing). Fees do not include divisional, provincial, or national regatta race fees.

Requirements: Registration is not complete until your account is paid in full and you have submitted a signed waiver and code of conduct. Payment can be made online, or by credit, debit, or cheque in the canoe club office and is due by May 15th, 2020.
